FAQs

ORANGE ANCHOR ART SCHOOL WILL PROVIDE:
 

Space- use of the studio including tables, chairs, display wall, mini fridge, & restroom facilities
 

Technology- access to internet, use of overhead projector/projection screen via HDMI, bluetooth speaker
 

Tools & supplies- non-consumable supplies such as scissors, hot glue guns, brushes, and some agreed upon consumables

Consumables Budget- an agreed upon amount will be decided between OAS, owner, Heather Rigney and instructor based on needs and pricing.

Registration & payment collection- includes a listing on our website which handles registration forms and payment collection via credit card

Advertising/Exposure- highlighted Instagram posts, & website placement

WORKSHOP/CLASS/CAMP INSTRUCTORS WILL PROVIDE:

Short proposal- a rough written proposal (a paragraph is great) of what you anticipate teaching, including photographs we can use for class promotion.

Bio/Headshot for Website- a head shot and  2-5 sentence bio that describes your teaching background and what you bring to OAS (i.e. I bring a fun, up-beat approach to teaching weaving because I grew up with a loom in my living room!)

Promotion- instructors are responsible to promote their classes/workshop in their own channels so that we can have the best possible attendance.

Class instruction & classroom management- you being your dynamic interesting self, showing off your awesome talents in a safe and controlled environment

Specialized supplies and consumables- varies by project

Set-up/Clean-up- you are responsible for all set-up and proper clean-up from your class/workshop/camp. Clean-up procedures check-list will be given

COMPENSATION TERMS:

Instruction time: Instructors will be compensated hourly based on experience and education. A degree or experience in childcare/education is highly valued. 

Compensation for Prep/Clean-up Time- OAS will compensate instructor for (1) hour of prep for each day of instruction. Compensation will be equal to agreed upon hourly wage. 

Compensation for RI Background Check- OAS requires a RI Background check. You will be compensated a total of $15 for the $5 fee plus $10 for your time and effort. To get a background check in person at Attorney General's Customer Service Center in Cranston, you will need ONE of the following forms of ID. As well as a credit/debit card for the payment of $5.00 (fees apply):

  • Valid state issued driver’s license

  • Valid state issued identification card

  • Valid United States passport

* They do not take appointments; this is a walk-in service only.
